History of Loveland Youth Basketball
Loveland Youth Basketball Association was formed in
the 1970's with the purpose of promoting basketball within the Loveland area.
Due to the many individuals who have contributed their time and efforts we have
grown to one of the largest youth organizations in the Cincinnati area. We are
one of only a few organizations who provide both a competitive format and a
recreational league right within their home town.
Our program provides uniforms, basketballs,
and organizational structure to participants. The association uses
facilities provided by the Loveland School District. Enrollment has been
on a steady increase. Our enrollment for the 2003/2004 season hit an all
time high with 670 participants. We are expecting a similar enrollment
for the 2005/06 season.
Special thanks to our past presidents Wiley
Kyles, Randy Russell, and Ken Lester for their leadership
and contribution to the LYBA. And thanks to Steve Gellenbeck and
Victor Leopold for their many years of service. These selfless volunteers built the foundation on
which our organization stands, and from which it will be moving forward.
