Bring a Basketball to Practice
Many ball
handling drills require that every player has their own
basketball during the drill; therefore, we ask that all
players to bring a basketball to every practice. A
28.5" ball is used for all age groups.

LYBA Recreation League
For
those who feel they are not quite ready to compete as part of
one of our travel teams, we offer a well organized Recreation League. This program accounts
for approximately 83% of our players and is an integral
component of the LYBA.
Any player that is not
chosen to play on one of our Travel Teams, or that does not choose to
participate in the evaluation process, will be
placed on a recreational team, regardless of their skill level or
playing experience. Players need to complete
the registration process before the deadline to be guaranteed
placement in our recreation league.
This team assignment
process is different from years past. In 2008, and
going forward, there will not be an open draft. Players will be
assigned to a team by a random computer process after each
coach and their assistant is chosen.
